Club launches the Friends Of Cooley Kickhams donation scheme
2015 was an excellent year for Cooley Kickhams GFC, as our application to the Sports Capital Programme was successful and we were awarded a grant of €130,000 for development of our 2nd full size pitch. Phase 1 of the project will include all site works up to and including instalment of the new pitch. The grant money is ring fenced and must be used for this development, and we are also expected to provide at least 10% of our own funding.
With this in mind, Cooley Kickhams GFC have recently launched the Friends Of Cooley Kickhams donation scheme. Further details are in the brochure which you can download from here.
With over 20 teams and more than 300 boys and girls training or playing matches, our existing facilities cannot accommodate the increasing number of young people who wish to participate. In recent times, some of our teams had to give up home advantage for matches as our pitch was unavailable. A second pitch will help us to provide better quality training sessions, ensure our home matches are played at home, and will ultimately lead to increased playing numbers. It is also planned to extend the Sli Na Slainte walkway around the full perimeter of our grounds, which will be of great benefit to the wider community.
We hope that you will be able to support your clubs new fundraising initiative and be a part of delivering something tangible for the current and future generations. Imagine the sense of pride and satisfaction we will all feel when the first ball is thrown in on the pitch in the summer of 2017.
