Cooley Kickhams got back to winning ways with three excellent results during the past week.

On Tuesday evening the league recommenced with a series of matches in round six taking place. Kilkerley travelled to Fr McEvoy Park but failed to test a rejuvenated Kickhams who led at half time by 2-9 to 1-2 and went on to win by 4-15 to 2-5 with goals from Brian White, Shane Marks, Daryl Bailey and Mark Thornton.

FR McEvoy Park, the home of Cooley Kickhams, was opened on the 13th July, 1969, and to celebrate the 40th anniversary a tribute night to the Irish ballad groups will be given in concert by Celtic Dawn.

This will take place in the Sports Complex on Saturday next, and admission is € 10.

A strong second half performance propelled Cooley Kickhams to victory over St Patrick's in Thursday night's final of the Junior 2A Championship in Lordship.

Turning over 0-5 to 0-2 in arrears, the revival started with points from David Thornton and Shane Marks, whose entire personal tally of six points came in the second period.
