In April 2006 the club made a commitment to the young people of the peninsula to provide a structured framework that would facilitate the development of underage football in our club.
This commitment laid the groundwork for the juvenile structures we have in place today.
In 2010 the Cooley Kickhams juvenile division became official and was recognised as an integral part of the club.
Providing football in a fun and safe environment for all our young people ranging in ages from 4 to 18 years of age was the intention.
Official and structured training sessions for the kids began.
The Juvenile Division has gone from strength to strength both on and off the playing fields since its inception with more and more kids registering with our club every year.
Getting Kids Interested in Playing Football At an Early Age Is Core To The Success Of Our Future Club Team Development
Children are divided into groups based on age as follows:
The boys division is divided in to the following groups following their graduation from nursery. Their structured groups are, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U15 & U17. As with the girls each group has their own trained coaches leading their training sessions and facilitating them in their competitions whether they be blitzes, for the younger ones (ages 7 to 10 years) or league or championship or both for the older groups (ages 11 to 17 years). Training for both boys and girls groups generally takes place midweek, with time and duration of sessions dependent on availability of coaches, pitches etc.
Our Girls train separately from the age of 7 and they are organised into the following structured groups – U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18. Each group have their own trained coaches leading their training sessions and facilitating them in their competitions whether they be blitzes, for the younger ones (ages 7 to 10 years) or league or championship or both for the older groups (ages 11 to 18 years).
